This half term we have been working for Station Studios. We have looked at fantasy stories and have retold the story of St. George and the Dragon. We made a children’s TV program using images of the story and i-Movie
. When we completed this we then focused on riddles and creating our own riddles about animals. The children did well to get the clues in the correct order. In maths we have worked on 2D and 3D shape, looking at the different properties of each shape and recognising the similarities and differences between the shapes.
In art we studied David Hockney and his famous painting ‘Guest House Wall.’ We recreated this using one of our display walls. Creating a large interpretation of the painting. All the children painted some part of the art work. We have worked hard to learn the grammar for Year 2 this half term and we have practised our handwriting where we are beginning to join our letters. The children have begun to practise SATs style questions for reading and maths and will continue this into next half term. We have been very lucky this half term as Nik from the Futsal partnership came to teach the children Futsal skills. They thoroughly enjoyed the sessions and we hope to have Nik back in the future.
